Page : Trade Proposals
Location : GM's Office - Trades

General Description - From this page, you may initiate trades, view trades proposed to you and/or vote on trades conducted by two other teams in the world. You may not conduct any trades until after the schedule has been generated and budgets have been set.

Franchise - To view a franchise with which you would like to trade, please select the franchise from the dropdown menu and click 'Go.' The franchise logo will appear in the box next to your team with the option to add players and cash from the franchise in the trade. Proposed and accepted trades will always appear in the Existing Trades section regardless of the franchise view.

Existing Trades - Trades in this box represent trades that you have proposed to other teams, trades that have been proposed to you and/or trades between two other teams in the world that you may veto. The number in parentheses after a user's name indicates the number of previous HBD seasons the player has completed.

If you have proposed the trade, you may click 'Review' under action to view the trade in the box below. To cancel the proposed trade, please click 'Withdraw Proposal.' This will only function if the other user has not yet acted on the trade proposal. If a trade has been proposed to you, it will be indicated here in a similar fashion, with the initializing franchise and user. To look at the proposed trade, please click 'Review.' You may overview the trade in the window below. Click on the players' names to view their profiles. To accept the trade, please click 'Accept Proposal.' An accepted trade takes 24 hours to process during which time it is voted upon by the other users. After the trading deadline, all players involved in trade must have cleared or be pending on waivers. You may decline the trade outright by clicking 'Reject Proposal.'

If you would like to offer a different, yet similar trade to the same user, please click 'Counter Offer.' This will decline the previous trade offer and allow you to edit players and cash in the trade. To vote on a pending trade between two other users, please click 'Vote' next to trade. You will be able to 'Approve' or 'Veto' the trade. You need not do either. A trade will fail if at least ten, of the other users veto the trade. After 24 hours, the trade status will be updated with the users who voted listed with their vote. If the trade is accepted and not vetoed, players will be sent to the Edit Rosters page for assignment and any applicable cash for that season will be immediately awarded. Trade proposals that are in the Existing Trades box for greater than four days will be automatically removed. Trades will continue to process until the final game of the big league World Series. Any trades at that point are considered nullified.

Trade Proposal Build - To initiate trades, you must use the Edit Players/Cash option from this box. To include players and/or cash from your team, please click the 'Edit Players/Cash' button on the left. This will take you to a new page where you may add players or money to the trade. After doing so, you will be directed back to this page where you may do the same with another franchise. Please click the 'Edit Players/Cash' button on the right to add other players or money to the trade. After that, you will again be directed to this page. From here you can review the trade again before submitting it. Any cash changing hands is represented in the Finances table. You may also add a Note to be read by the other user upon review. To do that, please click in the box next to 'Note:' and type what you would like to say. There is a 128 character limit to Notes. To send the trade to the other user, please click 'Submit Proposal.' The user will see a new trade on this page as well as on the World Office home page. To clear your work and restart, please click 'Clear Proposal.'

Nullified Trades - Occasionally, you'll see a trade proposal listed as 'Nullified'. This indicates there was another roster move made that made this trade proposal null and void. For instance, if an owner has two outstanding proposals involving the same player and one is completed, the other will be immediately nullified. Also, if a franchise signs a free-agent or wavier claim which causes their finances to no longer be able to acquire the players in a particular trade, it will be nullified. A trade can also be nullified if it involves a player that is drafted in the Rule 5 draft. Another instance in which a trade can be nullified is if one or more of the player's involved has a stint on the DL longer than 5 days. If a player involved in a trade has his contract or salary adjusted prior to the completion of the trade, the trade will be nullified. With regards to the contract or salary change of a player, it's important to note that the timing of the contract or salary change is not based on actual timestamp but on the HBD cycle. For instance, if a trade is proposed and accepted during the AM cycle but a player has his contract extended earlier but also in the AM cycle, the trade will still be nullified.

How does the Rule 5 Roster Freeze affect trades? - Any outstanding trade at the time of the Rule 5 Roster Freeze will have it's timeline extended by one full calendar day. This will allow owners the proper amount of time to veto any accepted trades.
